Demo Version 0.2.1 Released!


Hello all,

Another update announcement to 0.2.1. This addresses all the bugs found during NottsVGE 2025 (and more!)

Changelog:

  • Added a totally new area in the ship. The cryopods! These are important in the later story.
  • Fixed bug where if a player's chosen name was < 6 characters long, the rest of the sentence would be cut off.
  • Made keypad scene reset number of inputted key presses to 0 if the player backs out of it.
  • Swapped out pausing logic in the keypad scenes so that the player is only presented with save/quit instead of teleport/save/quit.
  • Reduced number of A presses in the skeleton boss fight required to received the "I should teleport to the ship..." prompt from 3 to 1 because players weren't pressing that many times. I may undo this in future because I want it to be a puzzle, might put it to 2 instead.
  • Reworked the underlying logic for the FNQ realignment puzzle because it was possible to complete with two of the modules being misaligned.
  • Corrected typo in final dialogue after defeating the skeleton boss: "on its ribcage" -> "in its ribcage".
  • Corrected dialogue for retrieving the laser pistol that appears by interacting with OWL happen more than once on repeated interactions.
  • Updated the terminal point & click scene to remove triangular keys.
  • Reduced screensaver activation wait timer from 60 to 20 seconds.
  • Added some red wiring in the ship scene.
  • Corrected some bad scene tiles in the ship scene that looked misaligned.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy playing this version! It's really close to being finished now as a game so watch out for the update on completion!
